Sander Boschma is a circus artist specialized in aerial straps, but is also performing in handbalancing and aerial silks and rope. He was born in 1993, in a small city in The Netherlands called Meppel. Since a young age he has been training in a youth circus in his home town, called Circus Okidoki.
After working a lot on the basics of several circus disciplines, Sander mainly worked on handbalancing and partner acrobatics before starting aerials at the age of 20. After finishing a Masters degree in Marketing, Sander decided that he still wanted to follow his passion and started at the Fontys Academy for Circus and Performance Art (ACaPA) in Tilburg, The Netherlands. There he started specializing in aerial straps. Additionally, he continued developing his skills in handbalancing, aerial silks and rope.
During his time at ACaPA, he performed at CIRCa in Auch (FR) and he participated in the European Youth Circus Festival in Wiesbaden (DE). Since his graduation from ACaPA in June 2019, he is performing at several festivals and events, whilst teaching workshops as well. In summer 2020 he performed as an aerialist and acrobat in the show 'The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands' in Disneyland Paris.
